Sign rarity
Each sign's rarity is how many numbers carry it. Rarer signs are worth more EP, and pay more when you share one with the omen.

Is this real numerology?
No. Numerology is nonsense. This is worse: it is real mathematics wearing numerology's robe. Every "sign" is a genuine, provable property of the number (prime, perfect, palindrome, and so on). We just narrate it like a fortune teller.
How do you know a property is "rare"?
We counted. There are exactly 1000001 possible numbers (0 through 1000000), so we checked every one against every sign. The rarity you see is the real frequency. A perfect number, for example, appears 4 times in the whole range, so it is a 1 in 250000 omen. No estimates, no vibes.
Where does today's number come from? Can it be rigged?
At 00:00 UTC we take the SHA of the latest public commit to torvalds/linux and fold it into the range: parseInt(sha[0..12], 16) mod 1000001. It is a git hash, so nobody can know it in advance, not you and not us, yet everyone gets the same number, and we show you the exact commit so you can recompute it. That is also why you can bet on tomorrow's: it genuinely does not exist yet. If GitHub is ever unreachable we fall back to a date hash so the omen still appears.
What is EP?
Omen Points, a rarity score. Each sign is worth more the rarer it is, so a scarce property counts for far more than a common one. Your number's total EP decides its overall tier, from Trash to Mythic, based on where it lands against every other number's total.
Do I need an account? What if I forget my password?
No account needed. Play as a guest and your streak lives in this browser. If you want your name on the leaderboard, create an oracle: just a name and a password. There is no email, no password reset, and no recovery. Forget the password and the account, with all its omen points, is gone for good. That is deliberate: no inbox to leak, nothing to phish, nothing to un-forget. Write it down. Points you earned as a guest carry over the moment you create the account on the same browser.
Does the leaderboard really reset every 3 months?
Yes. Every 3 months the board is wiped to zero and a fresh season begins, so a good run is always in reach and nobody sits on an untouchable lead forever. The only thing a reset keeps is the winner: whoever tops the board when a season ends is crowned permanently in the Hall of Champions (co-champions on a tie). Your streak is not touched by the reset, it only breaks if you skip a day.
Why though?
A number a day. It is a small ritual. Some days you get 500000 (Suspiciously Round, mild dread). Some days the universe hands you 8128 and you have to sit down. That is the whole game.
